Sobel Balaban
1929 ~ 2025
Sobel Balaban, born in 1929, in the Bronx, and grew up in Forest Hills, New York. She graduated from NYU and from the Parson’s School of Design. A creative individual whose career in the fashion industry spanned over 50 years. A loving, supportive mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who established a strong connection to education and work ethic. She was a voracious reader and supporter of educational institutions and various philanthropic organizations. Sobel was especially proud and supportive of her daughter’s life long commitment to gifted education.
In her memory donations are being accepted for a Scholarship fund at Nasri Academy for Gifted Children.
